Conference Sessions - Sessions Seeking Participants

Sessions Seeking Participants

The following session organizers are seeking participants for sessions (panels, roundtables, meetings, or seminars) to be proposed for the upcoming conferences. If you are interested in joining one of these session proposals, please contact the session organizer directly at the e-mail/phone number provided.

If you would like to organize a session and wish to add your name to the below list, please send an e-mail to Rachel.Kranson@gmail.com with the following information: your name and contact information (e-mail and/or phone number), a brief description of the session you wish to propose, the conference to which you intend to submit your proposal, and a brief description of the topics you would like participants to cover.

Finally, once you have arranged your session, we encourage you to apply for IEHS co-sponsorship. Co-sponsorship by the IEHS will help popularize your panel, and can help you gain acceptance in tight conference programs. Please contact Hasia Diner (Hasia.Diner@nyu.edu) for more information.

The Urban Ethnic Enclave

Panel Description: The panel will examine conceptualizations of the urban ethnic enclave. It will cover this theme from multidisciplinary perspectives, including history, literature, and film. The presenters will preferably deliver state of the art papers rather than case studies.

Proposed Conference: British Association for American Studies (BAAS) 57th annual conference, Manchester, England, April 12-15, 2012. (Deadline for submissions November 4, 2011.)

If you would like to participate in this panel, please contact Dr. Jason McDonald: J.J.Mcdonald@soton.ac.uk
